What does the job involve?
The Technical Department at Hammerfest LNG is looking for a mechanical engineer with good experience in valve technology.
At Hammerfest, you will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment with pleasant colleagues, exciting tasks, and professional challenges. Your work tasks will mainly be towards Hammerfest LNG, with an office in the immediate vicinity of an operating facility - but you will also have the opportunity to contribute across the onshore facilities.
What will my tasks be?
Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
- Analysis, optimization, and maintenance of control valves, including actuators, position controls and associated systems
- Contribute as technical support for manual valves, with a focus on pressure, temperature, and medium compatibility
- You maintain valve integrity through technical follow-up
- Contribute to reliable operation by assisting with troubleshooting, problem solving and analyses in collaboration with the professional ladder and operations and maintenance.
- Contribute to risk assessment, risk management and HSE.
- Evaluate and assess compliance with technical requirements.
- Update and prepare documentation and specifications within the profession.
The position requires an interest in new developments and improvements in valve technology, as well as analysis and troubleshooting of control valves to increase performance and reliability. You will participate in the planning, design, upgrading and replacement of valve technology, while meeting API, NORSOK and technical requirements.

Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or process technology.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in valve technology.
- Experience with technical requirements and international standards.
- Fluent communication skills in English and Scandinavian, written and spoken.

- Good technical understanding.
- Team player with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to contribute to a safe and good working environment.
- You must live or be willing to relocate to Hammerfest.
