North Development Program 2025 - Operational Procurement - Purchaser
What does the job involve?
Responsible for providing strategic, operational procurement and contract management in line with category strategies. The process includes ensuring compliance with corporate governance, mandates, laws, and regulations through development and documentation of scopes, specific procurement strategies, sourcing, tendering, evaluation, contract negotiations, approvals, award, contract management, handling of claims and warranties, and purchasing. Effective project and stakeholder management through collaboration and clear roles and responsibilities with customers, decision makers, suppliers, and partners. Outcomes are commercial and effective contracts and procedures serving timely, cost-effective and sustainable supply of goods and services to the business. Category and supplier performance coordinates category management and supplier relationship management (SRM)across all procurement categories to maintain strong supplier relations.
You are utilizing your knowledge in a specific area to carry out tasks that have a short-term operational impact/risk. You independently complete assigned work, either with limited guidance or by following well-defined guidelines and procedures, in order to achieve targets set by others that have an impact on your immediate team as well as other work areas. You effectively communicate facts, practices, and policies to individuals within your immediate team as well as external parties, with others support. You may navigate potentially conflicting agendas. You adhere to established procedures and tackle occasionally complex challenges by identifying and resolving them. You proactively seek continuous improvement and embrace change and ambiguity. You demonstrate flexibility to adopt new activities and ways of working while also taking ownership of your work. You follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values.
This position is part of the North Development program. You will receive a development and learning opportunity and be given stretch tasks and responsibility at an early stage. Your first three years in this role may see you on an exchange between our northern Norway locations.
What will my tasks be?
Within this position, your key tasks will be to:
- Focus on safety and sustainability in procurement work.
- Follow up and handle changes and deviations throughout the Plan-to-Pay process.
- Plan purchases based on business needs, as well as through insight and knowledge of the market search and select suppliers.
- Evaluating offers and conducting negotiations.
- Follow up that ordered goods and services are delivered on time.
- Be an active contributor to continuous improvement, work across business units and take an active role to help deliver on our goals of increased efficiency, digitalization, robotization and exploring new ways of working.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant subject area, ideally procurement, supply chain, or commercial related. Completed degree by no later than August 2025.
- Knowledge of and a desire to progress your career in supply chain management and procurement.
- An interest in continually upskilling in digital tools.
- Drive to deliver cost effective and high-quality services.
- Ability to work structured and with a commercial mindset.
- Self-motivated, team player, curious, and passionate about learning and development.
- Fluency in Norwegian language (both written and spoken) and good communication skills in English.
- Willingness to live in Harstad.
Please be aware that final interviews for the positions within the North Development Program will take place in Harstad in the period March 19th - March 21st, 2025
