We are looking for a Project Purchasing Manager
Position: Project Purchasing Manager – Generation & Transmission Business Group

Context:
-
Project Purchasing serves all projects within the Generation & Transmission Business Group (G&T).
-
The team is responsible for all project purchasing activities (excluding raw materials and chartering) across various project portfolios.
-
Provides resources for Tender Subcontracting in close cooperation with Tender Subcontracting leadership and Subcontractor Relationship Management.
-
Comprises over 35 purchasers across six purchasing teams (France, UK, Northern Europe/Asia, Mediterranean, US, and Transversal), each led by a team lead.
-
All Purchasers, Senior Purchasers, and Purchasing Managers report to their respective Team Leads, who in turn report to the Head of Project Purchasing.
Purpose:
-
Responsible for developing strategies, planning, and executing purchasing activities for assigned projects.

Ensure that purchasing activities align with client requirements and organizational goals.

Drive high-quality, efficient project execution through effective supplier management, contract oversight, and delivery monitoring.
Areas of Responsibility:
-
Manage one or more projects simultaneously in alignment with established Project and Purchasing Operating Models.
-
Oversee all purchasing-related activities, including supplier sourcing, selection, package strategy, cost evaluation, and negotiations.

Support tender purchasing in collaboration with Tender Subcontracting leadership.

Mentor team members, including Senior Purchasers and Purchasers.
-
Adhere strictly to established management procedures, purchasing models, and project models.
-
Develop and implement purchasing strategies tailored to package complexities.
-
Establish, monitor, and update procurement plans and associated activities, providing regular updates to the Team Lead.

Lead subcontracting strategies and negotiations.
-
Foster collaboration with other disciplines and support functions within Projects and Sales & Marketing.

Participate in and lead key project and supplier meetings as required (e.g., clarifications, negotiations, kick-offs).

Ensure suppliers meet qualification requirements.

Identify and engage new suppliers; participate in audits when needed.

Ensure compliance with organizational ethics and policies, including competition law and ethics compliance programs.

Monitor supplier performance to ensure high-quality, timely project execution.

Oversee invoicing and ensure supplier payments comply with agreements.

Report cost savings and avoidances according to purchasing procedures.

Serve as SAP purchase order creator and Basware invoice approver.

Support operational tasks as required by the Project Purchasing Team Lead.
Expected Results:

Maintain accurate records in procurement systems, ensuring compliance with procedures.

Ensure all purchasing aligns with established project and corporate purchasing rules and guidelines.

Mentor and develop team members, promoting a collaborative and effective team environment.

Ensure effective coordination with tender and project teams, maintaining robust procurement plans and reporting inputs.

Secure competitive supplier tenders and valid quotes.
-
Ensure total cost of ownership is considered in purchasing decisions.

Negotiate high-quality contracts and ensure contractual terms meet organizational requirements.

Ensure efficient project execution with minimal variations and claims.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
-
Fluent in English; proficiency in Norwegian or French is advantageous.
-
Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain.
-
Minimum 7 years of experience in Procurement, Category Management, or Supply Chain, with a proven track record in negotiations and commercial achievements. Project purchasing experience preferred.

Extensive experience in international negotiations.

Industry experience in oil, gas, offshore, onshore, maritime, or construction sectors.

Proficiency in SAP; knowledge of BI and Ariba is an advantage.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate stakeholders and maintain detailed records.

Proactive, efficient, and results-driven with a high working capacity.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
