Quality and Risk Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Quality and Risk Manager (QRM) to strategically drive and oversee quality and risk management initiatives across our operations, including our supply chain processes. You will ensure that operational practices align with both internal standards and industry best practices, and that risk management principles are embedded into decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

As a seasoned leader and communicator, you will engage and influence stakeholders across the value chain—challenging assumptions, championing a pragmatic approach to quality, and ensuring that operational activities yield safe, reliable, and value-driven outcomes. Your proven ability to identify trends, synthesize complex data, and guide transformative improvements will be critical as we meet strategic objectives and secure operational excellence.

Main tasks

• Proactively lead all operations quality and risk management initiatives on behalf of Production Management, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and industry benchmarks.
• Establish, implement, and continuously improve quality assurance and risk management frameworks in operations, adhering to ISO standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Integrate the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology into performance monitoring, incident response and strategic planning to optimize outcomes.
• Facilitate deviation permit processes and other critical decision-making forums, promoting robust risk assessments and evidence-based judgments.
• Analyze quality incidents, metrics, and performance trends to identify root causes and lead the development of targeted improvement initiatives—driving down repetitive incidents and enhancing asset integrity.
• Collaborate closely with other quality functions within Vår Energi, ensuring consistent application of best practices, knowledge sharing, and alignment with broader organizational goals.
• Lead comprehensive risk reviews, assessments, and mitigation planning exercises that ensure the operational risk profile remains within acceptable thresholds.
• Oversee the implementation of contract quality and risk requirements, ensuring supplier performance aligns with internal standards and contributes to value creation.
• Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that quality systems, processes, and practices are standardized across all operational assets.
• Mentor, guide, and develop identified quality and risk professionals, fostering a high-performing, cohesive team with deep expertise.
• Ensure effective knowledge transfer and best practice sharing across functions, nurturing an environment of innovation, learning, and sustained improvement.
• Communicate with clarity and credibility across the organization, bridging strategic vision and technical detail to influence leadership teams, frontline personnel, and external partners.

Qualifications and experience

• MSc or BSc in a relevant discipline, coupled with extensive experience in Quality and Risk Management.
• Over 15 years of relevant industry experience, ideally including time within an operating environment in oil and gas or similarly regulated sectors.
• Proven success engaging with both executive leadership and technical teams, delivering strategic insights and translating complex information into actionable solutions.
• Demonstrated proficiency in quality and risk management software and methodologies, with a history of driving tangible improvements.
• Fluent written and spoken communication skills in Norwegian.
