Senior Software Engineer,

Halden, Norway (hybrid)

In Brady Technologies, we have a truly exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer!

You will be part of an innovative software engineering team developing our Energy Data Management (EDM) software that is used by many of the leading energy companies in the Nordic countries, France, UK, Australia and Canada. The solution offers modules including data communication, short-term trading, metering data management, balancing & scheduling, and settlement & invoicing.

This role will be part of an engineering team mainly based in our Halden office. This is a full stack role, principally developing in .Net 8, C# and Oracle. Technology modernisation is an important part of our roadmap development together with customer and market driven product enhancement. CI/CD process is implemented using latest technology, JIRA is used for backlog development. The engineering team is following agile methodology. Key technical skills:

• Full stack development
• .NET 8, C# 
• Blazor or similar
• Oracle / relation databases
• SQL
• Service oriented architecture
• Entity framework or similar
• Orleans or similar
• Communication protocols REST API, Web services etc.
• Good security knowledge
• Familiar with modern development methods as Agile and Scrum

Key Accountabilities:  

• Coding in the languages we use and work towards becoming an expert in these, keeping up to date with language versions
• Ensuring/proving your code works as expected using a Test-Driven Development approach based on agreed Acceptance Criteria
• Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects
• Create, document, and implement unit test plans and scripts
• Follow our Continuous Integration approach
• Follow our Source Control approach with GitHub
• Perform final level reviews using our Peer Code Review development approach
• Assessing opportunities for application and process improvements
• Support and encourage the reduction of technical debt in our development codebase
• Pro-active in understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code level
• Provide suitable documentation to support development work - from release notes up to product documentation
• Software Design and requirements breakdown in the form of User Stories using various Agile methodologies
• Interpret written requirements and technical specification documents
