Jefferson Wells is looking for an experienced Mechanical Package Engineer for our client in Asker. In this role, you will primarily focus on rotating mechanical equipment, including pumps and compressors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering high-quality results. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) and a strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Act as a Package Engineer for rotating mechanical equipment such as pumps and compressors.
- Perform studies, FEED work, design, selection, and technical assessments of rotating mechanical equipment.
- Develop technical requisitions and datasheets while ensuring compliance with procedures and work instructions.
- Conduct technical evaluations of supplier quotations and liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
- Review and approve supplier documentation and ensure adherence to regulations, codes, and standards, including NORSOK and API standards.
- Carry out inspections, witness equipment testing, and oversee package follow-up during installation, mechanical completion, and commissioning.
- Manage engineering registers, respond to technical queries, and resolve non-conformance requests.
- Identify and report any changes or extra work in the scope of work.
- Ensure timely delivery of equipment and final documentation.
Background and Qualifications
You hold at least a BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, and you have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience as a Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) for pump and compressor packages. Your expertise includes multidisciplinary engineering, and you are familiar with industry standards such as NORSOK, API610, API685, API674, API617, API618, and API614. Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are essential for this role. Your critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and high attention to deadlines and quality requirements set you apart. You thrive both independently and as part of a team, and you are prepared to travel frequently as needed.
