Principal Engineer - Rotating Equipment

We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer for Rotating Equipment with track record experience on Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressors and pumps.

About the position

Principal Engineer is tasked with managing the procurement of rotating equipment, including compressors and pumps, for various projects. Key responsibilities encompass conducting design studies, technology assessments, preparing specifications, evaluating supplier quotations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role also involves performing inspections, testing, and reviewing supplier documentation. Package Responsible Engineer for the procurement of various Rotating Equipment packages include Centrifugal and Reciprocating compressors and pumps for Offshore Wind, Oil & Gas and Renewable Projects.

Responsibilities and tasks include

• Conduct design studies and evaluate new technology for rotating equipment and related systems like mechanical seals and lube oil systems
• Prepare and distribute equipment specifications and datasheets. Evaluate quotations from suppliers
• Serve as the technical point of contact for suppliers, customers, and other technical disciplines
• Perform inspections and tests at the supplier's workshop and ensure timely delivery of equipment and documentation
• Oversee the installation of equipment and conduct tests at the yard/offshore. Respond to technical queries
• Review and approve supplier documentation and contribute to technical data registers
• Ensure the supplier's work complies with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards

Qualifications

• Higher education (BSc or Msc), long relevant experience may competence for lack of formal education
• Minimum 10 years relevant working experience in delivery of Rotating equipment in NCS Projects
• Experienced with multidisciplinary engineering in Suppliers or EPC Contractors
• Familiar with relevant local and international codes and standards such as NORSOK and API, Norwegian acts and regulations

Personal qualities

• Fluent in written and oral English, Norwegian is an advantage
• Cooperative working attitude and acceptance for multicultural team environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Innovative, systematic, and proactive; committed to improving methods with digital tools and meeting deadlines with high quality
