Senior Sales Manager Ocean Space Acoustics

Ocean Space Acoustics (OSAC) is a small company with 13 employees working in subsea positioning and underwater communication. Our first products were launched earlier this year after 6 years in development, and we are now focusing on scaling up our organization to meet increasing customer demand. To be able to deliver in these exciting times, we seek a Senior Sales Manager to help us grow further.
The challenge we solve
On land the GPS and other GNSS constellations give precise information about where we are. Same is true for any equipment we tag with such positioning units. However, as soon as you go below water the positioning becomes much more complicated. We at OSAC have developed a new system, PingMe, to solve this issue by measuring the positioning of our sensors, attached to for example a fishnet, relative to a known position, such as a ship. Due to the precision and low cost of our solution, we can work in new markets that previously had no such viable solution available.
Our current market focus is fisheries where we can tag fishing gear and make a real difference in fighting ghost fishing and maritime pollution. By 2030, we aim to have prevented 28 000 sets of lost fishing gear worldwide, saving at least 400 000 marine animals. In addition to giving precise subsea positioning, our system also has integrated sensors such as temperature and pressure sensors. These sensor measurements can be communicated to vessels within a few kilometers for real-time updates. If the vessel has Internet access our cloud services will be updated in real-time as well.
The opportunity
Ocean Space Acoustics is in an exciting phase, where we are expanding into new markets and strengthening our presence in the current core markets. To secure future growth we are looking for an experienced senior sales manager. with a strategic mindset, and good communication skills, comfortable with communication to people in all parts of an organization. Leading the sales process from initial contact, and through to final contract is signed, and handed over to our operation department.
The Senior Sales Manager reports to Chief Commercial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain customer relations.
- Visit customers worldwide, follow up leads and attend exhibitions and conferences.
- Preparation of quotations and manage contract negotiations.
- Provide input on specifications and feedback to internal resources.
Your profile
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, self-driven and enthusiastic person with, good communication skills with following qualifications, and personal qualities.
- Higher education in technical disciplines, long experience with good track record, can compensate for lack of formal education.
- Experience with maritime underwater communication, and knowledge of the market is an advantage.
- Experience in bringing products to new markets.
- Strong experience in international sales and customer relations.
- Good skills in use of CRM systems and office programs.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
