Senior Drilling Engineer / Advanced

Drilling & Wells is responsible for delivery of large project portfolio with total net resources of more than 700 million barrels of oil equivalents, and a comprehensive exploration campaign to support future organic growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for Drilling & Wells engineering in close collaboration with subsurface, exploration, projects and our alliance partners. Reporting to D&W Manager in one of our Asset or Assistant Drilling Superintendents with the ambition to develop Aker BP to the next level and change the oil and gas industry. You will also have an active role in Aker BP's improvement and digitalization agenda finding better and smarter ways of working.
Typical work tasks can be:
- Focus on performance first mentality and be responsible for effective and safe execution of assigned task/projects within Drilling & Wells
- Perform in-depth well design incl. well path design (Compass), Casing Design (StressCheck / WellCat), directional drilling and wellbore positioning, fluids, cementing, Torque/drag/hydraulics (WellPlan), kick tolerance, time and cost estimation, etc.
- Risk assesses and challenge technical solutions and established truths and drive implementation of opportunities.
- Access and use data across departments and functions to create better plans and procedures for well operations
- Capture learnings and improvement suggestions during planning and operations to ensure continuous improvement and perform end of well reporting
Skills and qualifications:
- Minimum M.sc. engineering degree or similar in scientific subjects.
- Sound technical understanding of well operations.
- Good understanding of how digitalization will affect how we work.
- Fluent in English and preferably fluent in Norwegian, both verbal and written
