OptoScale has developed an industry-leading computer vision system, creating a paradigm shift in aquaculture. Our hardware product, the Bioscope, is a stereoscopic underwater camera device with onboard computing and internal light systems. This unit is placed in fish pens to register a wide array of data from thousands of fish each day.
To meet the growing demand for our technology, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Procurement and Logistics Manager to join us!
About the role
As a Procurement and Logistics Manager, your primary responsibility will be to source and build upon a robust supplier network, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement for the company. In addition, you will oversee key aspects of inventory management and logistics to maintain a seamless and efficient supply chain. You will also play an important part in developing procurement policies that align with OptoScale’s sustainability strategy, ensuring that our supply chain supports our commitment to environmental responsibility.
Duties and responsibilities
You will report directly to the COO and collaborate on procurement strategies and logistics planning to ensure alignment with budgets, delivery plans, and timelines. Additionally, you will work closely with other departments—particularly the Mechanical Design and Production teams—to maintain a smooth and efficient supply chain.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers that meet our quality standards, ensuring a robust supplier network
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, terms, and conditions while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity of supplies
- Maintain optimal inventory levels in coordination with the production team
- Plan and coordinate shipments both domestically and internationally
- Handle export/import processes and ensure compliance with trade regulations
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience in procurement, logistics, and sourcing, including contracting and negotiation
- Fluent communication skills in both Norwegian and English, written and verbal
Although industry knowledge is advantageous, it is not essential. However, you should bring strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, along with a structured and detail-oriented approach. Additionally, the ideal candidate is:
