We are seeking dedicated and ambitious students who want to spend the next semester/two semesters working on challenging and rewarding projects within development finance in our Oslo office.
Norfund’s role is to assist in building sustainable businesses and industries in developing countries by providing equity capital and other risk capital. Norfund’s investment areas are Renewable Energy, Green Infrastructure, Financial Inclusion, Scalable Enterprises (SE) and Funds. The internship is a paid, full-time opportunity.
As an Intern in Norfund you will get an extensive introduction to our operations, giving you a solid foundation in development finance. Additionally, you will participate in the Norfund week, our week-long annual strategy meeting with all employees held in August. We are currently recruiting interns for various investment areas, and departments working with strategy and IT projects:
- Financial Inclusion (investment area)
- Renewable Energy (investment area)
- SE Agribusiness & Manufacturing (investment area)
- Green Infrastructure (investment area)
- Strategy & Impact
- IT
Tasks
As an intern in Norfund, you will have the opportunity to participate in projects throughout the investment cycle depending on your department:
- As part of the investment team, you will be directly involved in the investment process, supporting deal teams with tasks such as; financial analysis, modeling, valuations, and research on investments, companies, sectors, and countries.
- As part of the Strategy and Impact team, you will be supporting Norfund's overall work with strategy and understanding of impact through quantitative and qualitative analyses
- As part of the IT team you will take part in revising the IT-strategy, get experience in day-to-day operations and support as well as participate in different projects related to IT and cyber security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Economics, Finance, IT or other relevant studies
- Candidates who finish their bachelor’s degree spring 2025 are welcome to apply
- Strong analytical skills
- Work efficiently both in teams and independently
- Proactive and with good interpersonal skills
- Motivated to work with development finance
- Fluent in English
- Have the necessary permits to work full-time in Norway from the middle of August 2025 and for a period of 4-10 months
