Want to take lead in a global compliance role?
In this role, you will oversee compliance efforts for Nammo’s two Ammunition Business Units (Small- and Medium-Caliber Ammunition (SMCA) and Large-Caliber Systems (LCS)), ensuring adherence to national and international regulations. You will be responsible for driving compliance change processes and enhancing system and compliance competencies within the two Business Units. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice Presidents of the two BU’s and working closely with the Corporate Legal and Compliance Departments, you will operate at the intersection of governance, risk management, and business operations. This position offers the chance to contribute to Nammo’s strategic goal of doubling its production capacity by 2030, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation are embedded into every aspect of the journey.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead compliance strategy development - design and implement compliance frameworks that support the business units’ growth while meeting regulatory standards
- Manage export licensing and IPR strategies and ensure processes comply with European and U.S. regulations, safeguarding Nammo’s intellectual property
- Drive risk management initiatives: Oversee third-party risk management at the business unit level, ensuring ethical and secure partnerships across the value chain
- Strengthen internal processes: Align business unit operations with Nammo Management System processes, including marketing, sales, and product development, to ensure seamless compliance integration
- Develop and manage tailored training programs to build awareness and capacity within the business units
- Work closely with compliance managers across Nammo sites, fostering a unified approach to compliance, and engage with regulatory bodies, customers, and industry associations to ensure trust and transparency
Qualifications:
- Leadership and specialist experience in compliance roles in an international setting
- Proven expertise in export licensing regulations, particularly European and U.S. frameworks, and risk management practices
- Understanding of industrial production processes, supply chains, and complex business operations
- Ability to lead compliance initiatives across multiple geographies and cultural contexts
- Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with regulatory authorities, customers, and industry stakeholders
- A bachelor’s degree in business, law, compliance or a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred
- Experience from the defense and aerospace industry is a plus
- Fluency in English is essential, while proficiency in Norwegian or additional languages is a strong advantage
Who will you work with?
As Vice President Compliance, you will collaborate directly with senior leaders in the SMCA and LCS Business Units to ensure compliance is integrated into strategic and operational decision-making. You will also work alongside Nammo’s Corporate Legal and Compliance Departments, site-level compliance managers, and external stakeholders, including government regulators and industry organizations. This role requires building strong relationships and maintaining open communication across multiple geographies and disciplines.
