Visual Effects Coordinator at Storm Studios
VFX coordinators play a crucial role in managing the flow of a project. Supporting the VFX Producer and the VFX Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the seamless running of multiple TV and film projects, acting as support for the artists and production team, coordinating client calls, managing daily notes and delivering info to the right people and sending important progress reports each week.
This role will eventually require a deep understanding of the VFX process from the technical side of shot creation to the workflow between artists, supervisors, and producers but experience in another project/product management role is easily transferable.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
Shot Management: Keeping shot lists and project databases updated with shot statuses and any changes. Updating and amending descriptions, status’ and client notes on a daily basis.
Progress Reports: Regularly updating weekly progress reports for producers, supervisors, and clients.
Meetings & Reviews: Organising and attending meetings, including dailies with the VFX supervisors, taking detailed notes during review sessions. Coordinating client calls & meetings, taking notes and updating artists with important information. Organising meetings for our internal teams and keeping our studio calendar up to date.
Client Communication: Coordinating client calls and ensuring information is relayed accurately to the team before, during and after the call. Managing the show alias and ensuring that all emails are responded to and relaying important info to everyone in both teams.
Shot Monitoring: Help track changes in scope or timeline, assisting Producers by updating shot status', updating client notes and tracking changes.
Essential Skills:
A love of film and TV - sometimes this job is less glamorous and more spreadsheets, so it's important you are passionate about filmmaking and post-production.
Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between different teams and ensure the flow of information is smooth. Personality goes a long way and you’ll need to be able to adapt to different needs within our internal and client side teams. You'll be confident in speaking to clients and making sure artists receive all the info they need!
Attention to Detail: Comfortable spinning a few plates at once, keeping track of multiple streams of information across different projects and seamlessly moving onto something new if production priorities change.
Organisation & Time Management: The ability to prioritise tasks, helping the team keep projects on schedule whilst they manage multiple moving parts. A lot of tasks are time sensitive so it's important that you find it comfortable managing your own time and now what needs to take priority and when!
Software Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and scheduling/database tools (such as Shotgrid (Flow), etc.)
Flexibility & a level head: The capacity to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing demands. We need to be flexible with client needs and occasionally need to “plan for the unplanned”
VFX Knowledge: Understanding of the production pipeline, including artistic and technical aspects of VFX - whilst this is not completely necessary for the right person, an interest in what we do is essential.
This role is full time, based in studio in Oslo. We are unable to accept remote applicants.
Studio language is English as most of our clients are US based, Norwegian is a plus!
We are looking for someone who is really enthusiastic and ready to hit the ground running as we enter a busy period at the studio. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to award winning films and TV shows so if you think you're the right person to join the team, please apply at https://www.stormstudios.no/jobs - please do not apply through Finn.
