Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to coordinate and lead new building projects and various technical enhancement toward vessel fleet. Based in Bergen and reporting to the Head of Projects and Technology, the ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role includes international travel to shipyards, project sites, and meetings as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage new building projects from design to delivery, ensuring compliance with specifications and international regulations.
- Develop, lead and execute projects related to vessel improvement, including energy efficiency, decarbonization, and operational enhancements.
- Collaborate with shipyards, classification societies, and internal/external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide technical expertise and oversight during construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and reports to track progress and performance.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for all project phases.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the maritime industry to recommend innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering (Marine, Mechanical, or Naval Architecture) or sailing experience as Master or Chief Engineer
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in shipping, shipbuilding, or vessel improvement projects.
- Experience as Project Engineer/ Manager will be preferable.
- In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, classification standards, and safety protocols.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and cultures.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools. (Autocad, MS office)
