We are working closely with some of the largest customers in railway infrastructure (Bane NOR) and public transport (Sporveien) in Norway. Among other things, we are delivering a completely new digital signaling system for the railway, the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) and for the Oslo metro, Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC). The ERTMS project is the largest digitalization project in Norway to date.
What your day-to-day may look like:
We are looking for a Senior Commercial Project Manager (CPM) who want to become part of our dynamic team and help shape the future of mobility. You will be part of a large team related to the ERTMS project. The Senior CPM is responsible for commercial aspects related to customer and supplier contracts. Responsibilities encompass performance measurement, planning, forecasting, and reporting. We are looking for committed person who take ownership to the whole value chain and proactively builds relationships to achieve ambitious targets. Some of your key responsibilities are as follows:
- Responsible for overseeing your specific areas within the ERTMS project
- Ensure proper financial project set-up including work breakdown structure (WBS) in line with agreed project budget and company internal contractual arrangements
- Managing and optimizing targeted financial results (e.g., project gross profit, cash flow, and financing instruments).
- Perform financial planning, forecasting, controlling
- Establish and closely monitor cost accounting: actual vs plan, degree of completion, cost to complete, total forecasted costs vs planned.
- Support the responsible Project Manager on change management issues (variations) relating to the scope of the project.
- Identifying, evaluating, and assessing risks & opportunities, strategies, and response activities together with the Project Manager. Constantly assess risks & opportunities and their impact while proposing measures to prevent negative margin slippage due to risks that could have been avoided.
- Implement and drive measures together with the Project Manager to leverage opportunities to improve project performance. Support the Project Manager to ensure project quality based and achievement of project goals.
- Timely issuing of invoices with a strong focus on managing project cash flow.
- Actively communicate with customers’ commercial representatives and manage resolution of commercial issues.
- Build and maintain a network to relevant subject matter experts in our organization (e.g., Accounting and controlling)
- Influence team to take positive action and assume accountability for assigned work.
- Regularly perform lessons-learned activities on commercial aspects
- Support in preparation of budget/forecast for project business.
To succeed in the role, we believe you have
- Master’s degree within business, economics, accounting, or equivalent.
- Professional experience in commercial project controlling of complex projects, or other similar position.
- 5+ years preferred with documented results.
- Solid understanding of business processes.
- Experience from contract management and negotiations is an advantage.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with Power BI, or similar is an advantage.
- In depth knowledge with SAP Modules is preferred.
- Proficiency in Norwegian and English.
As a person, you are analytical, proactive, positive, and outgoing. You have excellent interpersonal and communications skills and work well in teams. You enjoy sharing knowledge with team members and you have a strong ownership to your own and your team’s result. Role also require that you are residing in Norway.
