Do you have experience with managing and controlling financials with large projects?

Aibel is looking for a Project Finance Lead who will have the overall responsibility for the financial management of a major EPCI project. Aibel has several EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) projects running between three to five years, comprising significant contracts, risk and complexity. You will lead a team consisting of financial specialists responsible for securing sound financial control in the project. Project Controllers in Aibel have significant impact and influence in their roles, and work closely with all parts of the organization, including different cost drivers at several sites around the world, as well as the client.

The position as Project Finance Lead will in close cooperation with Project Management, estimate risks, price contractual changes and be a key driver of the project’s quarterly forecast process. The role is responsible for the overall finance of the project and manages the consolidated accounts of the allocated project and provide support to project management as a finance partner. 

In order to succeed you must enjoy working in the areas between finance and technology, and handle and enjoy the complexity and various interfaces well. It requires you to handle operative tasks, whilst managing the role as a leader for your controlling team. You will meet challenges connected to international tax, legal and contractual aspects, as well as currency and commercial risks. As the Project Finance Lead you will always obtain full knowledge regarding all financial movements. 

Responsibilities and tasks include:

• Overall responsibility for all reporting and controlling requirements of the project
• Manage your team and develop people through delegation, empowerment and coaching
• Ensure financial governance, project forecasts and budgets for the project being overall responsible for the quality of deliveries of the controlling team.
• Overall responsible for the quarterly forecast process. This implies planning and managing the process from start till end.
• Ensure deliveries and compliance in accordance with internal and external guidelines, regulations, requirements, and expectations.
• External and internal financial reporting to clients, Project Management Team and Finance
• Contributions in change- and tender work
• Control and communicate risks, and actively search for opportunities to improve project financial results
• Proactively seek and initiate improvements within own working area

• Our new Finance Lead holds a master’s degree in Business, Finance or Economics
• Preferably extensive experience from project controlling of large EPC projects
• Experience in developing high quality working relationships internally and externally
• Experience in building and maintaining a well-functioning team
• You have strong digital knowledge and enjoy applying technical solutions into your work
• Good oral and written communication skills, in both Norwegian and English
• Solid business understanding and commercial orientation
