Wellcem is seeking to add a Project Engineer to the head office in Stavanger to support our technical sales and operational activities worldwide. The primary role of the candidate will be to support the team with sound engineering solutions and strong initiative while providing high quality technical solutions that meet the values of Wellcem as well as the expectations of clientele worldwide. The ideal candidate will need to exhibit the skills of being organized, dependable, self-motivated, and be able to work autonomously.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist the Project Engineering Manager in the administration of projects to provide technical oversight and coordination of design engineering.
• Represent engineering at meetings with customers, subcontractors, partners, and vendors at project reviews, and other project stakeholder engagements.
• Interpret client needs and provide technical and commercial solutions for well integrity challenges.
• Ensure job designs achieve the objectives of the client and that the engineered solution adheres to the Wellcem QMS and best practices as well as applicable regulations and standards.
• Plan, design and execute operations at the well site. Identify equipment and material requirements for the job and coordinate these items with supply chain.
• Perform post job analysis including the creation of end of job reports that focus on continually improving work processes.
• Assist in the planning and development of systems and procedures to improve operating quality and efficiency.
• Maintain the high levels of health and safety
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Drilling & Well Engineering or a related field.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred; however, new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong understanding (theoretical and practical) of wells and well designs, rigs and rig equipment, drilling and completion processes, well integrity, along with P&A and decommissioning activities.
• Solid theoretical and practical understanding of fluid properties and fluid dynamics.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in English - orally and written, Norwegian is an advantage
• Ability to manage projects as well as a practical understanding and hands-on ability for operating pumps and mechanical equipment.
• Team player that is also capable of working independently to deliver analytical solutions to various well problems while meeting client deadlines, goals, and objectives.
• Flexibility to adjust to work schedules as the project dictates.
• The candidate must be prepared to travel internationally at times.
• Candidates must reside in Norway and possess the legal right to work in Norway.
