Telecom/Senior Engineer – Wind 

Jefferson Wells is looking for an experienced Telecom Engineer to join a large greenfield project involving the detailed engineering of an unmanned operated offshore wind substation (HVDC). This role offers a great opportunity to work in an international environment and develop expertise within telecommunication system design for HVDC converter stations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Define and develop telecom philosophy and design solutions, including remote operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
• Follow up on telecom vendors and review technical documentation.
• Interface with other disciplines, suppliers, other installations, and clients.
• Develop and complete engineering documents and data registers.
• Participate in test activities, workshops, and technical reviews.
• Provide site support at the fabrication yard when required.

Background and Qualifications

Education and Courses:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Completion of Ex course and FSE course.

Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in telecom engineering and system design within wind projects, greenfield oil & gas, or other relevant industries.
• Strong knowledge of telecom design standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, DNVGL, and IEC.
• Long and relevant practical experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.

• Self-driven, systematic, and accurate, with a high commitment to deadlines and quality requirements.
• Proactive and eager to share knowledge and improve methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to implement requirements from new standards.
