Compliance & Commercial Specialist
We are looking for a Compliance and Commercial Specialist to help us navigate export regulations, maintain company compliant and quality assurance, and have knowledge and experience of contracts and claims management. This role will cover our business spectrum from initial sales through delivery of aftermarket services. If you have this experience together with management and control of risk, this role could be a great fit for you!
Key Responsibilities
Compliance and quality assurance
- Develop and maintain company policies to ensure we stay compliant
- Conduct regular internal audits to meet legal and corporate standards
- Be the primary contact for regulatory bodies and handle any inquiries or investigations
- Train employees on compliance requirements and best practices
Commercial
- Manage customer contracts and ensure they align with company goals and regulations
- Resolve customer and supplier claims related to contracts, deliveries, or quality issues
- Help to negotiate contracts that protect our company’s interests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve commercial processes and minimize risks
Trade Control Requirements
- Ensure compliance with national and international export control regulations (e.g., EU, UK, US, EAR, and ITAR)
- Classify products and technologies under applicable export regulations
- Manage export licenses, end-user certifications, and related documentation
- Stay updated with changes in trade compliance regulations and update policies as required
- Conduct risk assessments related to export activities and provide mitigation plans.
Key Qualifications
- A Bachelor or Masters’s degree in law, Business, International Trade, or a related field
- Ideally experienced in export control, compliance, or commercial operations.
- Strong knowledge of global trade regulations such as EAR, ITAR, and EU export laws.
- Proven experience with commercial claims and contract negotiations.
- Certification in Export Compliance Certification (e.g., Certified Export Specialist) is an advantage, but not a requirement
- Knowledge of international shipping and logistics processes
- Must be fluent in both Norwegian and English, both orally and in writing
