Technical Sales Engineer

To further strengthen our team, we are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our Customer Support team here at Kongsberg Maritime in Trondheim. In this role, you will have the responsibility for proactively identify and pursue relevant sales opportunities in the aftermarket and follow up customers to ensure that they are offered the latest in possible upgrades and modifications of their assets. Applicable products will mainly be towards the Machinery Instrumentation part of our portfolio, with systems like Bearing Wear Condition Monitoring, MetaPower® and numerous sensor applications already installed on thousands of vessels.

Occasionally, you will also attend vessels globally to build - and maintain - technical know-how. Key accountabilities

• Proactive sales of relevant products and solutions
• Familiarize with, and understand, customers fleet and operation 
• Present to customers applicable product lifecycle status including system improvements and recommended upgrades
• Provide relevant technical sales support to KMs global aftermarket sales teams
• Collaborate closely with Field Service, Warranty Team and other departments (R&D, Product and Project) to improve processes and quality
• Maintain & update customer information in the CRM system

Qualifications and experience

• Technical education & background, typically within electronics, mechatronics, automation or similar. Relevant experience would compensate for lack of education
• Knowledge of Kongsberg products and applications, preferably towards Machinery Instrumentation product range would be an advantage
• Experience from maritime, shipping and/or offshore oil & gas installations is an advantage, but not essential
• Good skills in use of digital tools (eg. ERP, CRM, Teamcenter, Microsoft Office etc.)
• Good oral and written communication skills in English and Norwegian
