Exciting Opportunity in Advanced Process Automation
Are you a skilled automation engineer with experience in the oil and gas industry? Jefferson Wells is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer for our client in Oslo. We are seeking a candidate with approximately five years of experience who can contribute to a department of talented and knowledgeable professionals. If you have experience with advanced process control systems such as Simatic PCS7 or similar, we encourage you to apply!
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Evaluate and approve documentation from subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and legislation.
- Program process control systems (PLC).
- Develop project documentation such as functional descriptions and testing procedures.
- Monitor and report progress on assigned work packages.
- Perform on-site testing and participate in offshore commissioning.
Background and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Cybernetics, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience with PLC-based process control systems.
- Experience with advanced control systems such as PCS7 or similar is essential.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding system control diagrams (SCD).
- Experience with Comos is highly advantageous.
- Background in EICT projects in the oil and gas sector is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as NORSOK is beneficial.

- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Analytical and solution-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Norwegian is advantageous.
