Exciting Opportunity in Advanced Process Automation

Are you a skilled automation engineer with experience in the oil and gas industry? Jefferson Wells is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer for our client in Oslo. We are seeking a candidate with approximately five years of experience who can contribute to a department of talented and knowledgeable professionals. If you have experience with advanced process control systems such as Simatic PCS7 or similar, we encourage you to apply!

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve documentation from subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and legislation.
• Program process control systems (PLC).
• Develop project documentation such as functional descriptions and testing procedures.
• Monitor and report progress on assigned work packages.
• Perform on-site testing and participate in offshore commissioning.

Background and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Cybernetics, or a related field.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience with PLC-based process control systems.
• Experience with advanced control systems such as PCS7 or similar is essential.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding system control diagrams (SCD).
• Experience with Comos is highly advantageous.
• Background in EICT projects in the oil and gas sector is a plus.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NORSOK is beneficial.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Norwegian is advantageous.
