Senior Environmental Manager for Elopak

Elopak is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Environmental Manager to lead our CO2e Transition Plan. This role is crucial in ensuring we maintain our position as a sustainability frontrunner in the global packaging industry. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and implement comprehensive CO2e scenario planning strategies to drive our climate reduction targets. Additionally, you will be the strategic owner of environmental raw material certifications (FSC, ISCC, ASI, and more). The position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in environmental management, particularly in senior roles.
As Senior Environmental Manager at Elopak, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating and improving the environmental performance of our packaging solutions, working alongside highly competent colleagues on the Corporate Sustainability team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the continuous development and execution of the CO2e Transition Plan.
- Conduct detailed CO2e scenario planning to inform strategic decisions and actions.
- Strategically manage raw material environmental certifications, collaborating closely with the internal quality department and third-party auditors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially procurement, sales, and product development, to integrate environmental considerations into business operations.
- Communicate assessment results and advise internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers and customers, as needed.
- Contribute to internal and external communication on product environmental impact-related topics.
Your Profile: You are proactive and self-driven, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are easy to work with, providing exceptional service to the entire organization. You are adept at navigating complex challenges alongside subject matter experts on the Sustainability Team and are committed to driving sustainable solutions.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree in Environmental or Material Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Proven track record of working in environmental management roles, preferably in a senior capacity.
- Extensive experience in calculating CO2e emissions and assessing product carbon footprints.
- Proficiency in performing calculations that support strategic decision-making.
- Background in consulting, with the ability to provide expert advice and guidance, is an advantage.
- Familiarity with biodiversity topics and relevant environmental certifications and standards is an advantage.
- Must be fluent in English. Fluency in a Scandinavian language is an asset.
