We are now looking for a Network/DevOps Engineer to strengthen our Engineering Team. As a Network/DevOps Engineer, you will be a key part of Hitachi's technical specialist team located in Norway. This involves solving complex technical issues and contributing with your expertise in ongoing projects. You will be responsible for the design, deployment and level 2 support of the infrastructure and solution, and ensuring best practices within TMS and on national signaling systems.

The Network/DevOps Engineer will have the following key responsibilities:
- Design, Implement and document new network and back-end features for the TMS project (e.g. network separation, network access control, firewall rules and Intrusion Prevention System)
- Implement and document network configuration for existing and new private cloud systems (e.g. new firewall rules, creating new networks, and setting full high availability configuration)
- Operate, monitor and maintain the network in operation, training and test environments (e.g. patch deployment and issue fixing)
- Work in the DevOps team for the TMS project
- Work in coordination with the Operation and Maintenance (OAM) team when performing changes in live environments
- Take the lead on one or more topics to address them end-to-end (requirement refinement/understanding, design, prototyping, implementation, documentation, roll-out to customer system and production, and knowledge sharing)
- Build expertise network architecture and feature for the TMS project
To be qualified for this role, you need to have the following qualifications and experience:
- Relevant technical education at University level, preferably BSc or equivalent. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
- Good knowledge on Barracuda firewall (F600) and Barracuda Control Center operation and configuration
- Good knowledge on Alcatel OmniSwitch operation and configuration (OmniSwich 6450 and 9907)
- Technical knowledge of SQL, bash and ansible scripting
- Competence within Agile Scrum methodology
- Autonomous and self-driven, but with the ability to work well in a small team
- Fluency in English, written and spoken
In addition, it is desirable/advantageous with the following competencies:
- IT and network security
- Technical knowledge on Kubernetes
- Usage of ElasticSearch, Grafana, Rancher
- Usage of JIRA and Confluence/Wiki
- Background from networking
- Experience from Java development
- Experience within railway, preferably also within ERTMS and TMS
