Roles and responsibilities
- Regulatory and Company compliance.
- Attend and actively contribute in technical mechanical discipline meetings.
- Maintain day-to-day contact with Contractors’ mechanical engineers.
- Selection and evaluation of technology, identifying integration and infrastructure issues.
- Implement procedures and standards.
- Follow up Contractors’ evaluation of technology and provide necessary interface with Operations during design stages.
- Provide engineering support and data of existing facilities to Contractors
- Review engineering drawings and relevant documents prepared by the Contractor.
- Report technical deviations
- Present proposals and alternative solutions when required.
- Attend inter-discipline technical meetings, including interface meetings.
- Attend technical audits as requested by Management.
- Report, process and follow up technical queries and requests for technical deviations from Contractors and Operations.
- Actively support other disciplines to ensure inter-discipline coherence and experience transfer.
- Participate in project risk management process.
- Participate in HAZID and HAZOP meetings.
- Package engineer responsible (PRE) for relevant procurement packages.
- Coordinate communication with Operations regarding mechanical issues.
- Provide engineering input to procurement process
- Participate in relevant Factory Acceptance tests (FAT).
- Commissioning responsible engineer, participate in development of commissioning plan and commissioning procedures.
- Participate in the development of operation, maintenance and start-up philosophies and plans.
Qualification Requirements
- Chartered Engineer / Engineer (BSc)
- Less formal education may be compensated with documented relevant experience.
- Mechanical engineering experience including:
- Projects and/or Operations
- Significant experience of working within offshore development projects including the design, manufacture, testing, commissioning and handover/operation projects.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in English and Norwegian Language.
- Strong commercial skills and business driver understanding to manage and direct the execution of engineering works and interfaces between Contractors.
- Good interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills, both internally to the project and with Contractors.
- Experience and ability to work in multi-disciplined teams and interfacing with internal organizations and external Contractor organizations.
- Strong commitment to the implementation of Company’s health, safety, environmental and quality philosophies.
