Regulatory Compliance Engineer
We are looking for our next Regulatory Compliance Engineer! Do you see yourself as part of a dynamic international business? Due to an increased number of activities, we are expanding the team, and you might be the Regulatory Compliance Engineer we are looking for!
In this role you will be providing technical support related to regulatory compliance within a variety of regulatory regimes across assets in operations, studies, tenders, modifications, and projects. Based on your background and personal interests, you will have the chance to work broadly across all these business areas or focus on specific ones. We work in an integrated manner within the technical disciplines, and you will be part of an excellent team of professionals.
Part of the role will also be to review international and national regulations identified as applicable by clients and other stakeholders and inform project and operations team of regulations that have impact on our work, support to clarify when necessary.
Altera Infrastructure specialises in designing, providing, and operating floating production, storage, and offloading units (FPSOs) to extract hydrocarbons in deepwater and harsh weather conditions. We have more than 50 years of experience as an independent FPSO operator.
We deliverer large, technically complex major projects in the offshore energy industry. Development, contracting, and execution of such large-scale projects requires advanced engineering and project management excellence.

Some of the things you will be doing
- Develop and maintain strategies, philosophies and specifications in close cooperation with profession leads, to ensure compliance with relevant regulations for our projects and operations.
- Establish Project Regulatory Compliance Plans including Regulatory Compliance Matrix
- Interact with Authorities, Class Society and Clients to address applicable regulations and review necessary documentation
- Communicate and follow up on the Regulatory Compliance Plans across all disciplines
- Keep track of comments, actions, and deviations related to regulatory compliance
- Perform audits and verifications to ensure adherence to regulations
- Providing regulatory compliance support within the technical professions related to e.g. operating assets, feasibility and concept studies, tender processes, modifications and during project phases.
- Being familiar with relevant rules, regulations and standards applicable for the area of responsibility
- Follow up on compliance issues, with specific focus on safety and prevention of major accidents
- Ensure that major accident hazards are properly assessed, evaluated and managed in accordance with relevant statutory and corporate requirements
- Coordinate and communicate issues related to regulatory compliance within the Company
- Contribute to experience transfer within the company
- Actively take part in improvement of work procedures in order to optimize work processes
- Participate in discipline checks on modifications and new revisions of relevant drawings and operations manuals
- Participate in execution of studies, tenders, modifications, FEEDs and execution of projects
The Discipline has a coordinating role related to Safety Case, Acknowledgment of Compliance, Performance standards and Risk Assessments/HAZIDs.
As all our assets follows the maritime classification and statutory regimes.
Some of the things we are looking for
- Technical education on master or bachelor level
- English and Norwegian language is preferred- fluent written and oral skills
- Detailed technical and operational knowledge within the relevant discipline
- Flexibility on travel and flexibility to join internationally based project teams for shorter or longer stays.
- Insight in classification rules and IMO Regulations would be highly recommended.
