Senior Process Engineer
We are looking for our next Senior Process Engineer! Do you see yourself as part of a dynamic international business? Due to an increased amount of activities, we are expanding the team, and you might be the Senior Process Engineer we are looking for!
In this role, you will participate in a range of activities within Altera. You will take charge of leading and coordinating contractors within the process discipline on specific studies and projects.
You will also leverage your expertise to offer technical support and input for our studies, tenders, modifications, FEEDs, and projects, as well as our operational assets.
Based on your background and personal interests, you will have the chance to work broadly across all these areas or focus on specific ones. We work in an integrated manner within all the technical disciplines, and you will be part of an excellent team of professionals.
At Altera, we specialize in delivering large, technically complex major projects in the offshore energy industry. Once projects are completed, we operate the units with our own offshore personnel. The development and execution of such large-scale projects demand advanced engineering and world-class project management. Providing operational support to our global portfolio of FPSOs requires an experienced, proactive, and competent team of engineers.

Some of the things you will be doing:
- Be a clear voice in the relevant discussions within the discipline and proactively drive progress on behalf of the company, often by leading and coordinating the collaborative efforts from a team of both Altera employees and partners/contractors.
- Be responsible for providing technical support within the profession across assets for operational support, studies, tenders, modifications, FEEDs and execution of projects.
- Undertake technical calculations/simulations for process plants using the discipline software packages.
- Contribute on process safety philosophies and undertake design verification of process safety engineering work. Contribute and assist with development, maintenance and review of operational procedures, manuals, systems and processes.
- Participate in discipline checks on modifications and new revisions of relevant drawings and operations manuals.
- Participate as necessary in technical investigations and audits within area of responsibility.
- Ensure that activities are carried out in conformance to laws and regulations, contractual requirements and Altera Management System, procedures, philosophies and specifications.
- Focus shall always be on health and safety of personnel, environment (natural and working) and equipment.
- Contribute to experience transfer within the company.
- Liaison with Classification and Regulatory bodies as required.
- Consult and receive information from Technical Authorities on rules, regulations and standards as required.
Some of the things we are looking for:
- Technical education on master or bachelor level
- English - fluent written and oral skills
- Detailed technical and operational knowledge within the relevant discipline
- Flexibility on travel and flexibility to join internationally based project teams for shorter or longer stays.
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience within the relevant discipline
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of applicable Regulations, Standards and approved code of practice in the jurisdictions where we operate
- Knowledge of Flag State and Classification Society requirements
