We are seeking a motivated graduate-level Structural/Piping Engineer to join our team at Subsea Products/Completion and Productions Solutions (CAPS) in NOV. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain valuable experience and develop their skills in analysis and engineering. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to various project teams and collaborating with fabricators and customers.
The typical work location is the NOV offices at Fornebu, with the possibility of working from home on some days of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in defining design basis/parameters (loads, materials, codes, design factors, etc.) under supervision.
- Supporting global and local strength analysis/calculations of subsea steel structures and piping.
- Participating in linear and non-linear analysis.
- Assisting with hydrodynamic calculations/analysis.
- Contributing to design work (3D-models and drawings) by providing input and support.
- Assisting in the preparation of technical documentation in English.
- Learning to review and approve technical documents under guidance.
- Some business travel may be expected, both domestically and abroad, including offshore assignments.
Qualifications and Skills:
- B.Sc/M.Sc degree in structural or mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Strong interest in subsea structural and piping analysis/calculations.
- Basic understanding of design and strength analysis of subsea structures and piping is an advantage.
- Familiarity with structured and quality-driven development/project processes (e.g., ISO 9001-Workflow) is beneficial.
- Exposure to Ansys, StaadPro, or Caesar II is advantageous but not required.
- Awareness of codes and standards for structural steel and piping design, such as NORSOK, Eurocode, ISO, API, ASME, and DNV, is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, in Norwegian and English, are required
