In this role, you will be a part of our Manufacturing department in Supply Chain, Kongsberg Discovery. You will support the organization by staying compliant and secure handling of chemicals in Manufacturing.
We are looking for a candidate who has experience from working with and support environmental, health, and safety initiatives. In this role collaboration is key, as you in your day-to-day work will collaborate across the departments. You will gain a business understanding; a broad network and you will be vital in assuring a safe work environment in KD Supply Chain Manufacturing.

What you will be doing
- Chemical Compliance Management: Contribute so that all processes and operations comply with relevant environmental, governmental, and industrial regulations. Keep our Chemical database updated.
- Risk evaluation: Ensure HSE risk evaluations for use of chemicals KD Supply Chain Manufacturing.
- Reporting: Developing and presenting reports on Chemical Management and substitutions.
- Collaboration: Working with various departments and stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Contribute on safety walks in Manufacturing.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying areas of inefficiency or non-compliance and proposing solutions to improve sustainability and safety practice when handling chemicals.
- Training: Ensure training in use of our HSE software for handling Chemicals, coordinate and provide training to employees on safety regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment, emergency preparedness, and other safety-related topics do to use or handling of chemicals.
What we think you should have
- Experience: Practical experience in related areas within environmental, health, safety (HSE) management. Bachelors degree within chemistry or similar (relevant experience may outweigh formal education)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using HSE software and tools, data analysis, and reporting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of relevant environmental and safety regulations and standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to effectively manage projects and collaborate with various stakeholders.
