Do you want to develop and design composite components for future electrical flights?
For over 100 years, Rolls-Royce has been creating groundbreaking products. We are now working to create cleaner and safer solutions that will contribute to net zero emissions by 2050.
The Rolls-Royce site in Trondheim consists of one unite team within different competence groups. Our strong relation to each other and passion to explore new designs has resulted in different unique solutions. These solutions are the basis for our growth, a growth that is only made possible by the people who work here. We have several exciting assignments in the years ahead. To strengthen the team, we are looking for a composite materials engineer.
About the position: Future machines are made of materials where specific properties are utilised in the best way. We aim for compact designs with high strength and low mass, hence composite materials are favourable for some components. Our focus on development of manufacturing processes ensures high and consistent quality for our future products.
As a composite materials engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing and optimizing composite structures and components for high-performance application. The role requires a strong understanding of composite materials, manufacturing processes (preferable filament winding), structural analysis, and testing methodologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, materials, R&D and external suppliers to ensure innovative and cost-effective composite solutions. You may also be involved in build planning and work related to verification of our digital models through prototyping and physical testing of sub-systems.
We are looking for a highly skilled person who has practical understanding of composite structures combined with higher education and a drive to solve complex challenges with a passion for pushing boundaries of innovation. We encourage you to apply even if not all the qualifications are met.
