Help us optimize the design of sustainable ship power systems

Do you want to help design and optimize ship power systems, utilizing different power and energy sources such as batteries, rotor sails, hydrogen, methanol and ammonia?

We are looking for a candidate with experience in modeling power and energy systems to help us strengthen our team of power system analysts. You would be working in a multidisciplinary team consisting of electrical engineers and modeling & simulations experts. Drawing on the competence in the team and the rest of the organization, your contributions will help Marine Hybrid Solutions explore and optimize ship power system designs for its customers.

Marine Hybrid Solutions is a start-up backed by two strong industry partners, and your contributions would be key in developing new products and services in our portfolio. You would also contribute in an early phase of the company to establishing a good culture and positive working environment.

Competences and experience

• MSc within electrical engineering, cybernetics, marine technology, computer science or similar
• Practical work experience with power systems, maritime in particular, is an advantage 
• Experienced in Matlab/Simulink or similar
• Experience with design optimization algorithms is an advantage

Your responsibilities will be

• Evaluate the correct modeling method based on desired outcome and available material
• Model, analyze and optimize power system architectures
• Support MHS’ customers in making design choices
• Contribute to the development of a flexible simulation environment
• Contribute generally to MHS’ development of products and services
