Shape the Future of EV Charging: Join Recharge as Our Communications & Insights Manager
Job description
We are looking for a Communications & Insights Manager to lead our earned communication strategy, public relations, and corporate communications while strengthening our data-driven approach to insights and market research. This role plays a key part in enhancing brand reputation, strengthening media relations, and ensuring communications align with regulatory affairs.
Beyond communications, this role is also responsible for deepening Recharge’s insights function, ensuring that market research, customer insights, and data analysis directly contribute to strategic decision-making, product development, and business improvements across the company.
You will also drive awareness, promote our platforms and offerings, and ultimately contribute to increasing net sales in both B2C and B2B segments.
A key objective of this role is to strengthen Recharge’s reputation and contribute to increasing the amount of energy sold at our charging stations. This will be achieved through proactive and reactive PR efforts, primarily in Norway and Sweden, ensuring that Recharge is seen as the best and most sustainable choice for EV drivers in need of fast charging.
Communication & Public Relations
- Develop and implement a PR strategy that builds Recharge’s reputation and supports business objectives, ensuring consistent and effective messaging across earned media.
- Manage public relations efforts, including media outreach, press releases, and relationship-building with key journalists, influencers, and industry stakeholders at the local, national, and Nordic levels.
- Ensure clear, consistent, and impactful messaging in all external communications.
- Work to increase awareness and drive usage by promoting our own platforms, including the app, credit card payments, new sites, upgraded sites, new and innovative products and features, and smart energy solutions.
- Act as the lead for crisis communication, ensuring clear and effective responses in critical situations.
- Monitor and respond to media inquiries, industry trends, and reputation management challenges.
Corporate & Regulatory Communications
- Support corporate communication efforts, including internal messaging and executive communications.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure clear and compliant communication on industry regulations, policy changes, and public affairs matters.
- Assist in drafting statements, position papers, and responses to regulatory developments affecting the industry.
- Advocate for industry standards, such as improving uptime transparency and supporting easy payment solutions, reinforcing Recharge’s position as a leader in the sector.
Insights & Analysis
- Strengthen the company’s use of insights and market research beyond communications, ensuring they play a key role in shaping the product roadmap, improving customer experience, and driving business strategy.
- Gather and analyze own and customer insights to inform communications strategies, product improvements, and market positioning.
- Be the main contact and purchaser for insight suppliers, such as brand trackers, customer satisfaction measurement companies, and market research firms. This also includes structuring, informing, and sharing insights internally to ensure they are effectively used across the organization—not just in communications but also in product development, service enhancements, and business decisions.
- Proactively identify trends and opportunities based on insights that can improve Recharge’s offering and customer experience.
- Track communication performance, PR effectiveness, and brand sentiment through media monitoring and analytics to refine strategies and maximize impact.
- Leverage Recharge Insights to provide transparency into the business and reinforce Recharge’s reputation as an open and trustworthy industry leader.
Success factors
- Proven experience in communications, PR, and/or corporate affairs, preferably in a regulated industry, mobility, energy, or technology sector.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
- Experience engaging with journalists, managing press inquiries, and leading PR efforts.
- Analytical mindset and skills in MS Excel/Power Bi, with experience using insights to optimize communication strategies, support product development, and drive company-wide improvements.
- Experience in crisis communication is a plus.
- Strong understanding of market research, customer insights, and how they contribute to business strategy.
- Experience working across both B2C and B2B audiences.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, policy, and operational teams.
