Postdoctoral research fellowship
We offer a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship in the project “AI-Informed Reading of fast non-contrast enhanced MRI for breast cancer screening”. The main aims of the project are to evaluate AI-supported MRI without contrast agent administration for detecting small breast cancer lesions, to assess the efficacy of non-contrast versus contrast-based MRI for screening and to develop an application for AI-driven detection of breast cancer lesions. A full description of the project can be forwarded by request.
The applicant will work in the department of computational radiology and physics and will be part of a multidisciplinary team together with other researchers, radiologists, radiographers, physicists, pathologists and data scientists.

Duties and responsibilities
The main working tasks will be the establishing an MRI scanning protocol, setting up a clinical study, developing AI-networks and conducting data analysis. At the beginning of the project, the applicant will spend some time in the clinic for the establishment of the imaging protocol and maintain contact thereafter. The study will be performed both at Oslo University hospital/Radiumhospital and Østfold hospital.Qualifications
A PhD in a relevant field (data science, MR physics, radiology, clinical informatics, applied mathematics)
- Documented experience in image analysis
- Knowledge in programming languages (e.g., MATLAB or Python)
- A special interest in MR imaging and cancer diagnostics
- Good communication skills both written and oral in English and a Scandinavian language
- Previous experience in a clinical setting
