Do you want to play a key role in shaping the legal framework at a leading offshore wind company?
We are looking for a Legal Advisor to join our team in Oslo! In this role you will provide expert legal advice, ensure the company’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and manage legal risks while supporting strategic business objectives. Working closely with senior management, you will contribute to driving the company’s operations within the renewable energy sector. This position reports directly to the SVP Legal, Negotiations & Compliance. You will take on a diverse set of responsibilities, collaborating across multiple departments, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the business. As Vårgrønn continues to grow, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities and play a pivotal role in driving the renewable energy transition.
Your role will cover:
- Legal Advisory: Provide legal advice on various matters, including partnership agreements, financing, employment law, regulatory compliance, and legal strategies.
- Contract Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and contracts to safeguard Vårgrønn’s interests.
- M&A Support: Collaborate with deal teams to ensure effective legal due diligence and cost-efficient M&A workstreams.
- Tax Compliance: Advise on tax optimization strategies and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- AI and Legal Strategy: Implement legal strategies that leverage AI tools to streamline compliance and negotiation processes, staying informed on technological advancements.
- External Counsel Management: Represent the company in legal matters and manage external legal counsel relationships.
- Governance and Board Support: Collaborate with the CEO and SVP to support governance and board activities, ensuring legal compliance and strategic alignment.

Skills, qualifications and experience
We are looking for candidates with a law degree (Norwegian or UK-qualified) and at least 4 years of experience, ideally from a law firm or an energy-related organization. Experience in negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and a solid understanding of the energy sector are beneficial. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as fluency in English (oral and written) with proficiency in Norwegian being a plus.
