As a Marine Superintendent, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring our vessels meet international standards. You’ll work closely with our vessel operations teams and the entire offshore team, significantly impacting our marine operations. About the position:
To provide professional HSEQ and marine guidance to staff on board and ashore, and contribute to driving the Company to a best-in-class performance level and implementation of the HSEQ policy and objectives.
Duties and responsibilities:
Coordination of rules and regulations from various flag states
Ensure compliance with ISM, MLC, ISO, and ISPS standards
Follow up legislative regulations, commercial standards, and OVMSA best practice
Act as HSEQ focal point for assigned vessel
Coordination of external audits and inspections on assigned vessels
Plan and execute internal audits on assigned vessels
Conduct vessel visits as required and conduct HSEQ training on assigned vessels
Participate in client/charterer meetings in support of ongoing- and future planned operations
Support the vessel teams in operational matters
Ensure navigation practices meet industry standards
Assist in Take-over and hand-over of vessels.
Participate in -, or lead incident investigations as required
Contingency tasks as defined in the contingency manual, and act as contingency leader if appointed
Act as CSO if appointed
Qualifications:
Background as a senior officer and/ or DP operator on offshore vessels, or extensive experience as a senior officer on various types of offshore vessels. Lack of sailing experience on offshore vessels can be compensated with higher education or other relevant work experience in the maritime trade or navy/military background
Proficient in both spoken and written English
Strong organizational and management skills; and decision-making capability
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer-based skills. OSM Thome Offshore is using UNISEA HSEQ system and knowledge related to UNISEA is an advantage but not essential
Competence to conduct vessel internal audits related to the company's SMS and is conversant with the ISM code.
Flexible to travel worldwide
