R&D Manager ROV
We are seeking an R&D Manager to lead our multidisciplinary engineering teams, including software, electronics, and mechanical development. This role requires a dynamic leader who can oversee multiple development projects, ensure alignment with company goals, and drive innovation in new technologies. The R&D Manager will also be responsible for building business cases for new developments, and ensuring projects meet technical and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Be a key role in the management team.
Lead, mentor, and manage the software, electronics, and mechanical team leads to ensure seamless collaboration and project execution.
Establish processes and procedures for product development.
Oversee all R&D projects, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, budget, and quality requirements.
Develop and maintain a technology roadmap aligned with business objectives and market needs.
Identify and evaluate new technology opportunities, including feasibility studies and business case development.
Coordinate cross-functional efforts between R&D, production, sales, and customer support to ensure a smooth transition from development to commercialization.
Drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and best practices in R&D processes.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements relevant to ROV systems.
Hold overall responsibility for defining R&D priorities and long-term strategic goals in collaboration with the Management Team.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the R&D department and report progress to management.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, certifications, and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
Preferably Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, or related field) or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in an R&D environment.
Background in product development, preferably within robotics, automation, or subsea technology.
Experience in managing complex development projects from concept to market launch.
Ability to build and present business cases for new technology investments.
Understanding of system integration, embedded software, electronics design, and mechanical engineering principles.
Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive results.
Familiarity with industry standards and certifications related to subsea or marine technology.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and stakeholders.
