Are you our new Data Scientist?
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Technical Department in Oslo, Norway. This is a full-time position that is suitable for a junior to mid-level candidate with a minimum of two years of working experience. The successful candidate will work closely with management to support business needs and provide analytical support for strategic decisions.
About Frontline Management AS:
Frontline Management AS, a subsidiary of Frontline Ltd., provides technical management services & project management solutions including new build concept & execution to Frontline Plc., Ship Finance Ltd. Flex LNG and Seatankers Management Co. Ltd. The current on the water managed fleet is approximately 160 ships as well as 40 newbuildings, and includes crude oil tankers, LNG carriers, bulk carriers, car carriers, container ships, and offshore vessels. All vessels in the fleet are fully digitalized, pushing sensor data from equipment ashore. The group’s strategy is to have the most efficient and lean asset management in the business, and data is a key enabler in achieving this goal. We are looking for an energetic person to fill the role of Data Scientist to support us in achieving our ambitious target through digital technology and data analytics.
The role requires a large degree of self-drivenness as you will work alongside management to support the business needs and provide support in strategic decisions. In addition, you will join a Team that is working towards a more digital-driven and future proof operation in a conservative business. The work is therefore pioneering and challenging.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quantitative analysis and problem solving to support decision makers.
- Define, develop, and build data models.
- Establish new integrations and manage existing solutions.
- Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Use-case development and prioritization.
Key skills:
• Experience with Exploratory Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Data analytics
• Proficiency in IT languages and/or technologies such as: Python, SQL, Power BI, and the Azure environment.
• Strong analytical and structured thinking
• Quick and curious learner with a passion for exploring how technology can solve real business problems.
• Team player attitude to work effectively with a range of stakeholders and external parties
• Service mindset, in order to act on the needs of the team and our stakeholders
• High implementation ability
• Solution oriented and be triggered by innovation.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Minimum two years’ work experience
• Excellent English skills, proficiency in Norwegian an advantage
• Experience from working in an international company or as a business consultant would be an advantage. Shipping knowledge is not a prerequisite.
