Job Description

• Engineering Manager is the technical single point of contact towards client.(Technical project manager) and is responsible for the product System delivery at all stages from design to delivery/installation and close out.
• Have first hand knowledge on technical scope of work and cost estimates from tender phase, for delivery of the best technical solution for the project.
• Manage the engineering work in the assigned project(s) and ensure engineering is delivered on time, with required quality and according to budget within Client`s and external Client specifications and requirements.
• Special attention to follow-up of project using Client`s internal standards, relevant contract specific standards, Master Document Register, Change Management system and other key elements of the project model – within the frame of the contract
• Supervise the team, collaborate and Support for effective use of the project resources within the Engineering teams across disciplines
• Contribute to information sharing between the project and other projects, both during the engineering and installation phase (E.g. Lessons Learned) .
• Support changes to ensure effective use of the resources and to meet internal and external requirements
• Support and contribute to improvements / changes within the organization
• Support system and competence development as well as training within the Business group including all units 
• Be a QHSE role model

Tender

• Support the tender group when allocated - with special focus on technical requirements/solutions, interface and system, use of Client`s standards, relevant standards, IDC and risk evaluation.

Project establishment phase

• Perform SOW contract review, and get an overview of the SOW and milestones. Clarify responsibilities.
• Cost: Review project budget and give input to updates.
• Resources: Check that the project has sufficient engineering resources.
• Review & establish project MDR, IDC matrix and procurement plan etc., together with other relevant roles in the project.
• Review schedule with focus on engineering, procurement, qualification, manufacturing and installation.

Project Execution - Engineering:

• Ensure that project engineering and SOW is delivered according to contract, internal guidelines and international standards. Be responsible for the system delivery at all stages from design to delivery / installation.
• Ensure that the best practice solutions are choosen and that engineering process is (as far as possible) in accordance with the Project Execution Model.
• Ensure document handling is performed correct.
• Responsible for technical interfaces between products and deliverables as well as disciplines and units in the project -  and to make sure that the overall technical solution is optimized. Involve competence as required. Responsible for external technical interfaces in the project 
• Give input to monthly reports, risk management, variation orders etc
• Attend monthly meetings and other technical meetings with client
• Monitor that project documentation and deliveries are according to actual project plan
• Monitor the project engineering budget; Give input on cost vs progress/time schedule  to PM/Controller when required.
• Support the process to obtain an as optimal project engineering as possible, including identifying and controlling risks and opportunities
• Facilitate engineering status meetings for all disciplines and report Engineering status/progress to Project Manager
• Report Engineering status to the Project Manager and the internal Team Leader on regular basis

Project close-out phase

• As built documentation
• Handover lessons learned to the Project Department after project is finished

Leadership:

• Facilitate and clearly define project tasks to ensure project members ownership to the project.
• Give clear feedback to the team members achievements.
• Clarify expectations  internally in the project team.
• Be open and share relevant information within the project team
• Support and motivate the team members
• Be a good role model

• Make sure that the professional level of services is aligned with project and contract needs and requirements
• Effective use of personnel during project execution and tender work
• Improve processes and motivate team members
• The project execution is in accordance with Client`s best practices
• Contribution to Client`s technology up to date with industry practice and rules
