Land High Voltage Cable System Design Engineer

Job Description

• Read and understand the client Request for Quotation, from an Engineering requirement and Specifications angle, particularly the part related to the Cable System design which must be offered for this specific client’s Project.
• Prepare / write the Technical offer and deliverables (Cable design, Technical Study, Technical schedules, assumptions/deviations list and all the relevant electrical calculations (mainly current carrying capacity, impedances, losses and short-circuit calculations) requested by our client and to be submitted within Client`s global offer for this Project.
• Once Client`s has been awarded a Project by one of his client, support our Project Managers to finalize Client`s Technical offer for the execution / implementation of the Project.
• Review, update and issue final Technical documents (final Cable design, data sheets / detailed Electrical calculations notices for client approval before manufacturing the Cable System).
• Participate to clients Technical meetings.
• Travel to France / other countries will be required for short durations to attend customer meetings.
• At the Tendering stage Ensure that the global Client`s offer integrates the right technical solution (right cable design and technical study, electrical calculations), for the Land HV Cable System part of the offer.
• At the Tendering stage Finalize the Cable System Designs and elaborate the technical studies / the different electrical calculations notices which will be validated by our customer before manufacturing the HV Cables and implementing them on site during Project execution

 

Qualification Requirements

• High Engineering School with specialization in Electrical Engineering
• A few years of experience within HV Cable business is preferred but beginner is also welcome
• Fluent in English
• Master Mathcad calculations tool
• Mastering Finite Element Calculations method is a plus.
• A few trips per year to be planned in France and abroad
• Communication and teamwork skills, rigor and method
