Accountant

Overview

Sharp Reflections, recently acquired by Computer Modelling Group (CMG), is seeking a talented and motivated professional accountant. In this role, you will support the CFO and finance team in managing all accounting operations. You will be responsible for the financial reporting for both Sharp Reflections AS - situated in Stavanger - and Bluware AS - situated in Oslo.

A successful Accountant has:

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Preferably accounting experience. 

• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.

• Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

• Proficiency in Excel.

• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

• Norwegian public accountant certification is a plus.

• Proficiency in English (and Norwegian).

Objectives

• Support the CFO and Finance team in managing all accounting operations.

• Assist in preparing timely monthly financial statements.

• Support the finance and accounting teams with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS. 

• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations. 

• Utilize and optimize financial reporting, process automation, and data integrity. 

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.

• Payroll processing and expense reimbursement.

• Conduct bank and balance sheet reconciliations. 

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. 

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. 

• Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting. 

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial data accuracy and alignment with company objectives.

• Assist in the preparation of regulatory reporting.

• Additional accountant duties as necessary.

• Organizational Alignment

• Reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

• Works closely with the finance and accounting team and other administrative functions.

• Work location can be Oslo or Stavanger, part time home office is possible.
