Senior Engineers - Automation

We are looking for both Principal and Senior Engineers to strengthen our Automation & Cybersecurity department in Asker. As an Automation Engineer, you will contribute to Aibel’s exciting journey in the ongoing energy transition. Our portfolio covers manned and unmanned Oil and Gas topsides, High Voltage substations (HVAC or HVDC), electrification and other industry projects.

About the position

Aibel's Automation engineers design and specify automation systems solutions and strategies for projects in concept, study and detail phases. You will develop automation philosophies & solutions to the required level, as well as developing strategies, philosophies and secure design solutions for remote operation and remote diagnostics.

Responsibilities and tasks include

Depending on project, typical tasks will be:

• Automation system design for Concepts, Studies, FEEDs or EPC’s

• Development of Automation design documentation

• Development of Automation programming basis documentation, such as SCD’s, C&E’s, Shutdown Hierarchies, Functional Specifications, etc.

• Interface and collaboration with other design disciplines, construction, MC, commissioning, operation, other contractors and suppliers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree

• Minimum 8 years’ experience from automation engineering in green field projects 

• Minimum 4 years’ experience from SAS system design activities,

• Experience with development of philosophies, topologies and follow-up for SAS package

• Experience and thorough knowledge of automation design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, DNV and IEC

Key roles we are recruiting for

SAS/IACS Package Responsible Engineer 

• Responsible for development of Technical Requisition, Bid Evaluations and Follow-up of complete supplier delivery for SAS/IACS

Automation Safety Design Engineer

• Responsible for developing automation design for safety systems (PSD, ESD, F&G) in close collaboration with Safety and Process disciplines

Automation Concept & Studies Engineer 

• Responsible for the initial phase of automation design, including developing philosophies, topologies, and I/O budgets, while ensuring the feasibility of proposed solution.
