Be the key technical interface in major projects
Jefferson Wells is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager for an exciting opportunity with one of our clients in the energy sector. The role requires solid experience from complex engineering projects and strong coordination skills across technical disciplines. Preferred location is Halden, but Oslo is also possible. The assignment is set to start as soon as possible and has an initial duration of 6 months.
Tasks and responsibilities
As Engineering Manager, you will act as the technical single point of contact towards the client and be responsible for the system and interface delivery throughout all stages of the project – from design through delivery, installation, and close-out. You will manage engineering work in line with project goals, timelines, budgets, and relevant standards. This includes ensuring proper document handling, follow-up on technical interfaces, and the application of best practice solutions.
You will also:

Support tender activities related to technical solutions, standards, and risk evaluations.

Review scope of work, milestones, budgets, resources, and procurement plans during project establishment.

Monitor progress, engineering budget, and technical quality during execution.

Lead engineering status meetings and report to Project Manager and Team Leader.

Ensure "as built" documentation and lessons learned are delivered during project close-out.

Motivate and guide project team members with clear feedback and leadership.
Background and qualifications
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background and experience from engineering management in project environments. You should have:

Higher education in engineering (Bachelor or Master level)

Experience as Engineering Manager or similar roles in technical projects

Good understanding of systems engineering, technical interfaces, and multidisciplinary coordination

Knowledge of relevant industry standards and project execution models

Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
-
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
