We are looking for a Payroll Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join our Finance Department. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of payroll accounting and payroll processes. The position plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency within the organization’s financial operations. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working both independently and in collaboration with internal departments and external payroll partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all employees in Norway accurately and on time

• Maintain up-to-date payroll records, including timesheets, salary adjustments, and deductions

• Calculate wages, bonuses, and deductions in line with company policy and legal requirements

• Review and process travel expenses to ensure tax compliance

• Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies

• Prepare and deliver payroll reports to management

• Stay informed on current payroll laws and regulations

• Work closely with HR to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee data

• Reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts and resolve variances

• Support external auditors during annual audits

• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency

• Assist with other ad hoc financial tasks within the Finance Department

• Maintain and update internal salary band structures in accordance with market trends and company guidelines

 

Qualification Requirements

• Relevant experience from a similar role

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain structure

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

• Capable of working independently

• Experience with SAP is an advantage

• Availability to start as soon as possible is preferred
