Are you our Lead Mechanical Engineer?
As Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a central role in shaping the future of our mechanical and hydraulic systems. This is a senior, high-impact position where you will own technical design, system integration, and product development—while also leading and mentoring a team of engineers.
You willl report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and work closely with the mechanical engineering team, Lead Electrical Engineer and other core members of our cross-functional development team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design of PHC/AHC systems and shock absorbers for offshore use
Oversee hydraulic system integration, 3D modeling, and strength calculations
Perform system simulations and dynamic analysis (e.g., using OrcaFlex)
Develop and maintain schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
Ensure compliance with DNV and other relevant classification standards
Standardize and optimize designs for cost, performance, and manufacturability
Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments
Support the commercial team with design input for tenders and proposals
Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers
Collaborate closely with electrical, automation, and project teams
Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement across the portfolio
What We're Looking For
Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical/hydraulic engineering
At least 3 years of relevant hands-on experience with PHC, AHC, or comparable offshore equipment
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a similar technical field
Proven expertise in designing complex, hydraulic-driven systems
Experience with CAD (e.g. Inventor, SolidWorks) and simulation tools such as OrcaFlex
Strong understanding of DNV standards and offshore certification requirements
Experience from offshore, subsea, maritime or renewable sectors is a plus
Mentoring skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including client interaction
Business travel must be expected
You must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. English is the official working language at Safelink.
