The Safety Officer`s tasks and responsibilities are, but not limited to, following:
- Advise and assist personnel on QHSE-related matters and provide guidance on safe work planning and execution (RISK cards) and promote good quality reporting in daily work activities.
- Identify critical work activities and operations and maintain a presence in the field as much as possible.
- Promote and follow up on the implementation and compliance with CDE's safety standards and procedures on board the unit.
- Participate in daily meetings on board the unit and ensure the use of CDE's work permit.
- Perform regular checks and inspections of safety equipment on board according to planned jobs in the maintenance system.
- Maintain regular contact with the onshore QHSE department.
- Promote and follow up on the implementation of the rig-specific QHSE plan and ensure compliance with the established KPIs.
- Conduct safety introductions for newcomers.
- Participate in weekly safety meetings, morning meetings, and operations meetings.
- Participate in management and weekly HSE inspections offshore, and other relevant activities.
- Follow up and verify the correct use of Synergi according to CDE's guidelines.
- Follow up on routines to ensure the exchange of experiences between crews and rigs.
- Participate in internal investigations according to CDE's procedures.
- Act as an observer during drills on board and provide feedback to offshore management. The safety officer shall assist in reporting training and drills.
- The safety officer is also responsible for coordinating and reporting relevant training activities.
Suitable applicants should ideally have:
- Good communication skills (in Norwegian and English, both oral and written), ability to work structured and independently, genuine interest in health and safety.
- Practical experience from similar positions on offshore installations (preferably mobile units), as well as good operational understanding.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the Norwegian regulatory regime, as well as the ability to stay updated on relevant HSE requirements.
- Formal education in HSE, such as HSE vocational school, bachelor's or master's degree in HSE management. Relevant experience can compensate for the lack of formal education.
- Valid offshore certificates and physically fit for offshore work.
