Operations Director in Jotun A/S
Jotun Norway has a leading position in the Norwegian paint and coatings market, with a strong brand positioning in the Decorative segment, and a leading position in the Marine, Protective and Powder coatings segments.
Jotun Norway operates two different production facilities in Sandefjord, one at Vindal and one at Gimle. Our site at Vindal has a production capacity of 90 mill. liters, and our site at Gimle has a planned production capacity of 10 mill liters. Together, the two sites supply mainly to our Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish market with a full range of wet-paint products, in addition to strategically important binders and colorants for the group.
As our new Operations Director, you will oversee one of Jotun’s largest and most automated Operations. You will lead and manage the full Supply Chain; from Purchasing, Planning and Production to Logistics. The role is heading the Operations Management Team.
Working closely with a team of committed and competent colleagues, you will enhance the role Norway plays in supplying high quality paint and coatings to the Scandinavian market, whilst maximizing Operations efficiency.
The position is located in Sandefjord, Norway. It is part of the Norway Management Team and reports directly to General Manager Norway.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Operations team in line with our Leadership Expectations and tools to develop, coach, and guide its members to ensure a workforce that is competent, engaged, and enabled to meet Jotun’s current and future needs.
- Lead the Operations functions by implementing and monitoring procedures and guidelines to ensure that Operations activities comply with local laws and regulations, such as ISO 9001, ISO14001, and ISO 45001, Jotun Operations System, and Jotun’s HSEQ Management system.
- Responsible for HSEQ within Jotun A/S.
- Initiate, drive, and follow up continuous improvement activities by implementing the Jotun Operations System and follow up through agreed KPIs.
- Arrange and participate in operations management meetings to coordinate activities and improvement projects.
- Ensure close and efficient daily cooperation between all Operational functions.
- Ensure professional preventative and breakdown maintenance/systems by implementing the Groups programs to uphold an optimal production environment.
- Develop the Operations areas by initiating capital investments and budgets in accordance with Jotun standards to meet requirements for HSE and capacity while maximizing Jotun’s competitive advantage.
- Initiate and drive cross-functional planning and cooperation to ensure all stakeholders are aligned.
- Ensure efficient Logistics set up to meet customers' current and future needs, efficient stock management, and quality control of RM, packaging, and FG.
What We Look For
Formal requirements
- Passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience from managing a large-scale Operation.
- International experience (preferably from managing operations outside home country)
- Experience from cross functional cooperation on company management level.
- Experience from leading an operations management team, integrating several functions.
- Documented results from operational improvement programs (Operations Cost, Liter/Manhour, Right First Time, through-put time, RM and FG stock days).
- Good understanding of HSEQ management system and Jotun Operations system and documented results learning from best practice sites.
