International School of Bergen is looking for a temporary
HR / Finance Manager
Temporary 70% + 30% position for 1 year with the possibility of extension, starting September/October

As the HR and/or Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in our vibrant community, overseeing both the human capital and financial aspects of our esteemed institution. Here is what you can look forward to:
Impactful Leadership: Lead our HR and finance function with integrity and vision, focusing on achieving organisational goals while fostering a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
Strategic HR Management: Main responsibility for the entire recruitment process. Develop and implement HR strategies that attract, develop and retain staff members.
Financial Stewardship: Manage the school’s finances with precision and foresight. Your expertise will be instrumental in budgeting, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with regulations, enabling us to allocate resources effectively.
Continuous improvement: Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in HR and finance processes, focusing on best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Community engagement: Build strong relationships with staff and stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and resource for HR and financial matters.
Global perspective: Embrace the diversity of our international community and contribute to our mission of fostering intercultural understanding and global citizenship.
Relevant Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in HR management, finance, or a related field, ideally within an educational or multicultural environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Proficiency in financial management software and HRIS systems.
- Knowledge of labour laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Norwegian and English language fluency

ISB is a co-educational private day school which is authorised to deliver the International Baccalaureate PYP and MYP programmes. The school currently enrols approximately 250 students from more than 30 nations and is experiencing expanding enrollment. Classes are small with a maximum of 20 students in each instructional group.
