Purchasing Manager, Oslo or Klepp Stasjon

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team and play a key role in our procurement processes.

About the position

As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies that ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You will lead a small team of procurement professionals, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to our overall operational success. At Bufab Group our goal is to achieve “The World’s Best Supplier Base”. This role requires flexibility and the ability to balance high-level strategic tasks with hands-on, day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities:

•            Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with company objectives.

•            Identify and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal terms and pricing.

•            Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

•            Oversee inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels.

•            Ensure compliance with legal regulations and company policies in all purchasing activities.

•            Analyse purchasing data and prepare reports for senior management.

•      Close collaboration with sales representatives in new projects as well as working closely with our warehouse managers to improve handling of incoming goods.

•            Close collaboration with regional and global functions in Bufab Group.

•            Actively representing Bufab Norway in the BU Nordics sourcing meetings.

Expected level of travelling to suppliers and fairs 15-25 days per year. You will report to the MD of Bufab Norway, Patrik Lundström Törnquist.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing

·        Experience in reading and understanding customer drawings and specifications

·        Strong negotiation and communication skills.

·        Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

·        Fluent in English, other languages would be an asset, i.e. Mandarin, Norwegian, etc.
