The job includes:
- Be a front runner in the development of user interfaces using Vue.js 3 and modern frontend technologies.
- Collaborate with backend developers to integrate frontend components seamlessly with GraphQL APIs.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers to translate designs into high-quality, performant web interfaces.
- Manage a team of 6 (and growing) skilled front-end developers
- Conduct and oversee code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure the delivery of reliable and secure solutions.
- Optimize web applications for performance, scalability, and security
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of frontend developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and responsibility to deliver to our customers.
- Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support team members' professional growth.
- Serve as a key point of contact between the frontend team and other departments to align on priorities and timelines.
- Take ownership of the architecture, scalability, and technical roadmap for frontend applications.
- Define, drive, and uphold best practices in coding, testing, and development processes.
- Evaluate and implement modern tools, frameworks, and techniques to continuously improve team productivity and code quality.
- Stay on top of emerging trends in frontend development and share insights to keep the team ahead of the curve.
- Document technical specifications, architecture decisions, and best practices.
Required qualifications and experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Extensive experience with Vue.js 3 and Vuex for state management.
- Proficiency in GraphQL and Apollo Client for consuming GraphQL APIs.
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and AJAX.
- Experience with frontend build tools such as Vite, Webpack or Parcel.
- Advanced understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Ensure the security of the frontend code and adherence to security best practices.
- Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
- Proven ability to lead teams, set priorities, and drive deliverables.
In addition to above, below qualifications would be beneficial but not required:
- Experience with server-side rendering (SSR) using frameworks like Nuxt.js.
- Strong knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest or Vue Test Utils.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Proficiency with other frontend frameworks/libraries (e.g., React.js, Angular).
- Previous exposure to Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with cloud services like Azure
- Experience with design tools like Figma or Sketch
Working Location:
This job requires the employee to work from the office location provided by Horizon56 in Stavanger. This will involve commuting to the office on a regular basis.
Additionally, there may be occasional requests for the employee to travel to other locations for business purposes. These trips may be required to attend conferences, meet with clients, or participate in company events etc. It is the intention of Horizon56 to respect the employees’ personal commitments and responsibilities when requesting such travel and always derive to a mutual arrangement that suits all parties involved.
