COSL Drilling Europe, a safe and efficient drilling contractor dedicated to delivering on the energy transition with its cutting-edge, low-emission drilling rigs, is currently seeking skilled and motivated Assistant Drillers to join our team.



By 2025, our ambition is to provide climate-neutral drilling services and set a new market standard.



Our rig portfolio has a proven track record of having the most efficient and best performing rigs in the North Sea, with Energy Control Systems already delivering substantial CO2 and NOx reductions. The rigs are compact, with low PoB and operated by a highly competent and experienced team. We are certified with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard and the ISO 50001 Energy Management System standard and continuously invest in technology and competence that reduce emissions and bring long-term value creations for our customers and society.



The Assistant Driller`s tasks and responsibilities are, but not limited to, following:



  • Assist the Driller in operating the drilling equipment in accordance with operational procedures.
  • Ensure that the standpipe, choke and kill manifold are properly lined up and that the diverter valves operate properly, as advised by the Driller.
  • Ensure that all received instruction in writing or verbally are fully understood and adhered to.
  • Hold pre job meetings with relevant personnel before start-up of new jobs.
  • Ensure that maintenance is carried out within his/her area of responsibility and in accordance with the planned maintenance program, as advised by the Driller.
  • Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained in drilling areas.
  • Ensure updated tally records.
  • Ensure that necessary equipment is available for ongoing/upcoming operation as required.




Suitable applicants should ideally have:



  • Passed a vocational training programme acc. to NOG024 within Drilling & Well Technology, or other similar studies with specialization in Mechanical / Hydraulic or Electrical vocational studies, followed by Technical College Petroleum
  • Relevant experience
  • Fit to work offshore
  • Basic Safety Training - NOG
  • Offshore Medical Certificate
  • OGP L3 -IWCF Certificate Driller
  • Chemical Handling - basic knowledge
  • Work Permit & Safe Job Analysis
  • P-2.4 Simple Lifting devices
  • Fork Lift Operator Certificate T 1 & T4
  • G20 Knuckle Boom Crane Cert.
  • G11 Slinger
  • ISPS Designated Security Duties
