COSL Drilling Europe, a safe and efficient drilling contractor dedicated to delivering on the energy transition with its cutting-edge, low-emission drilling rigs, is currently seeking skilled and motivated Motormen to join our team.



By 2025, our ambition is to provide climate-neutral drilling services and set a new market standard.



Our rig portfolio has a proven track record of having the most efficient and best performing rigs in the North Sea, with Energy Control Systems already delivering substantial CO2 and NOx reductions. The rigs are compact, with low PoB and operated by a highly competent and experienced team. We are certified with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard and the ISO 50001 Energy Management System standard and continuously invest in technology and competence that reduce emissions and bring long-term value creations for our customers and society.



The Motorman`s tasks and responsibilities are, but not limited to, following:



  • Prepare for start-up and operation of all engine systems in corporation with control room operator for a safe DP operation of vessel.
  • Carry out maintenance and monitoring of engine systems and equipment.
  • Conduct daily checks of relevant machinery spaces and report and record any abnormalities.
  • Familiarise him/ herself with all piping and valves related to engine systems in order to safely operate same.
  • Monitor daily consumption of diesel oil, lubrication oil, potable water and ensure that adequate quantities are available from the consumption tanks the next 24 hrs.
  • Familiarise him/ herself with how to operate all emergency systems including shut down systems.
  • Establish and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness throughout his/ her area of responsibility.
  • Keep Engine Room Logs.
  • Ensure that orders and instructions given in writing or verbally are fully understood and adhered to.
  • Inform his/ her supervisor of any suggestions to make a safer working environment and a more efficient operation of unit.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement of the maintenance system.




Suitable applicants should ideally have:



  • Passed a vocational training programme acc. to NOG024 within Mechanical studies with specialization in Ships Engine Mechanical vocational studies
  • Relevant experience
  • Fit to work offshore
  • Basic Safety Training - NOG
  • Offshore Medical Certificate
  • Trade Certificate Motorman
  • Banksman & Slinger (O 1.1 og 2.3)
  • P-2.4 Simple Lifting devices
  • Chemical Handling - basic knowledge
  • ISPS Designated Security Duties
